BOO Repronex

Hello blogging buddies,
We are 8 shots into the In Vetro process. Today was the big day where I am injecting 4 shots a day, 2 of which are the stimulating ones (for my eggs). There are starting to be a lot of needles in the bio hazard bin.

I feel the need to exclaim this publicly....I HATE REPRONEX. Who invented this drug and is someone working on remaking it so that it doesn't feel like FIRE AND RIPPING when you inject it??? I have been sore all day from that shot, and I'm still sore now 15 hours later from when I took it. The nurses warned me it would "burn a little". This my nurse friends, is what I call an understatement. :)

This shot may be the ending of me. I told Kevin today that I wasn't sure I can keep doing this. It takes me an extra 30 minutes to get ready in the morning now because I have to actually mix up and make this dreaded drug before injecting it. I even have to let it sit for 10 minutes after I make it so it won't burn so bad. I can't imagine what it would feel like if I didn't wait!! After injecting it I was so overwhelmed with pain that I got dizzy and felt nauseous...which I now know (due to a recent blood draw gone bad) means I'm about to pass out. So I ran over to my bed and laid down for awhile so I wouldn't drop out cold. Awesome.

So...makers of Repronex, please know I have a high respect and even appreciation for whatever amazing stimulation this drug does for my ovaries, but oh my gosh...please someone work on a way to make it less horrendous to inject! This injection alone must be the cause of many women opting OUT of In Vetro.

Onto other exciting news here in The Rogers In Vetro adventure - um....well there isn't anything else exciting actually. We do shots. Well, I do them, Kevin hears about them and turns pale. I think we are both already tired of our roles. Maybe we can switch? :)

Here's a fun little picture of our bathroom trash can (which was just emptied 2 days ago). Time for a bigger trash can (yes those are all needle wrappers, gauze & alcohol wipes).

Maybe I should start rating the blog. I think we're probably up to PG now. Stay tuned for the next oh so exciting update.

Isn't PG the new PG-13 though? We say whatever we want on TV and in movies, so...

...you're doing great. Starting out in the race is the hardest part, and now you are getting closer to being done. I promise.
